Lili Carati Alcova Filmi

Music on hold, on THE SOLOIST, Joe Wright

The Soloist is a film that disappoints on all fronts.
A shame, considering the director behind the camera: Joe Wright .
After demonstrating his virtuosity and enormous talent since his debut, Pride and price , and in his second feature, the magnificent and not at all praised Atonement, desire and sin , Wright debuted in Hollywood with a pretty poor script, signed by Susannah Grant, who has shown better things In Her Shoes and Erin Brockovich , above.
What critics have said, this time for sure: we are facing the same old story sweetened who likes to mainstream Hollywood, a person who discovers the innate talents in another, but for certain reasons (physical or mental) fail to leave to light, like any mortal with a gift under his arm would.
Now if Robert Downey Jr. work "taco" I do not deny that their presence in the film is constant, and that at least is correct. Unlike the case of Jamie Foxx , an actor who has found interesting papers after his Oscar for Ray , like his compatriot Forest Whitaker.
His work is unbearably melodramatic, and if one carries the burden of an ambitious film wanting to "GET WITH IT" the viewer on the side of emotion, nothing worse than the dramatic scenes of Foxx.
Side note, yes, for a sequence shot in an alley taken by people living on the street, where Wright is felt, and gives vent to his camera movements and creative in staging . But not enough, and neither can the sound of her usual collaborator Dario Marianelli , who does not look even with the soundtrack, as we have used to in other films.
I hope and wish that Joe Wright follow soon on the right track when it started. Still young, and has two great films behind him. Be moderate. The next, you better ...
